CACFOA – National Anthropometry Survey of Female Firefighters

This report provides data that will assist in the design of products used by the Fire Service every day. As the Fire Service becomes an increasingly heterogeneous organisation in terms of sex, ethnicity, age and fitness, the report is a step towards ensuring that products accommodate as much of the user population as possible.

It specifically addresses the current lack of information that is needed to ensure that female firefighters are included in design parameters, which are generally tailored around the male user. It is, in no way, intended to provide criteria for the exclusion of Fire Service personnel.
