BSIF (British Safety Industry Federation)
The British Safety Industry Federation is the UK Trade Association for the Safety Industry, a major independent voice for UK safety. Providing authoritative information on a range of workplace safety issues and representing the needs of the UK market, our members and the country’s work force. It is their mission to support all businesses in the UK who help to keep people safe and healthy at work. They are passionate that safety and health is universally recognised for what it is – a positive force for good. BSIF work closely with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Trading Standards with whom they have Primary Authority partnership. BSIF are the lead association for the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulation. They ensure the needs of the UK safety industry are shared. Their active input across Government departments puts us at the forefront of influencing legislation. Their work with Government enforcement agencies, standards making authorities, safety equipment manufacturers, distributors, users and sector associations makes certain we are leading the way in educating and advising on topical industry issues that affect worker safety and health. To help give assurances to those that need to procure/use compliant PPE & Safety Equipment BSIF audit members under the ‘Registered Safety Supplier Scheme’, through this scheme a strict set of protocols are set for members so they can prove alignment with their regulatory/legislative requirements. The scheme seeks to improve the quality of product and the and the capability of suppliers in the safety/PPE market.
